Definitely don’t learn social media naturally as I spend much more time outside than surfing the networks. Big take away was that social media has changed things so much that we people now expect a social element with all interactions.
The narrative is convincing and easy to follow. I feel like I learned a lot reading the book and all the case studies really helped. Since reading this book I’ve personally been building the habit of creating content, its like my first baby words. This content is going out to different social media channels, so hopefully like a toddler, I can start having broader conversations.
I wasn’t thinking of social media as conversation before this book. I think that’s part of the reason I stopped participating on various social media channels over the year, I didn’t see a reason to put out content. But being part of a conversation is much more valuable and important to me. I’ve always enjoyed being part of a group of peers in which experiences and knowledge could be shared. Social media can do the same.
I would recommend the book for anyone who needs to use social media or perhaps someone who is curious in understanding a technology which has and will continue to influence our world. Check it out Here
